Portala Tools (the “Site”, “we”, “us”) is a free collection of online utilities at https://portalaser.cn. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle, what we deliberately do not handle, and the rights you have over your data. We designed the Site around one principle: your input stays on your device.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data as part of using our tools. The Site has no user accounts, no login, no sign-up forms, no comment boxes, no contact forms, and no server-side storage of the text you paste into a tool.
Every tool on the Site — formatters, encoders, hash generators, calculators, converters and the rest — runs entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript. When you paste text, choose a file name, or press a button, the computation happens locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers, nothing is logged against you, and nothing is retained after you close the page. You can verify this by disconnecting from the internet after the page loads; the tools keep working.
Cookies and Local Storage
We set no tracking cookies and do not fingerprint your browser. The only thing our own code stores is a small consent flag in your browser’s localStorage (a key named portalaser_cookie_consent) after you click Accept on our cookie banner. This flag remembers your choice so the banner does not reappear on every visit. It contains no personal information, cannot identify you, and is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time by deleting your site data in your browser settings.
Advertising and Google AdSense
To keep the Site free, we display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may set and read cookies on your browser, use device identifiers, and process information such as your IP address in order to show and measure ads. Advertising cookies are only placed after you accept them via our cookie banner; essential site behavior does not depend on them.
You can learn how Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you can also control cookies through your browser preferences.
Your GDPR Rights (EEA, United Kingdom, and similar laws)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with equivalent data-protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
- Data portability, where applicable.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Because we do not hold personal data about you beyond the local consent flag and the third-party advertising described above, most requests are answered by confirming that no data is held. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below; we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Your CCPA / CPRA Rights (California)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.
Portala Tools does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not sell the data our tools process, because that data never leaves your browser. To submit a request to know, delete, or opt out, contact us using the address below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights.
Third-Party Services
The Site is a static website hosted on GitHub Pages and served behind the Cloudflare content delivery network. These providers may process standard technical log data such as IP addresses, browser type, and request times for security, caching, and availability. Google AdSense additionally processes advertising data as described above. We do not control these providers’ privacy practices; please review their own policies.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly in line with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here directly; continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
